FEMA COVID-19 Related Funeral Assistance

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought overwhelming grief to many families. FEMA's mission is to help people before, during and after disasters — and they are dedicated to helping ease some of the financial stress and burden caused by the virus. This is why FEMA is providing financial assistance for COVID-19-related funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020.

Traffic Notice

A culvert on US 40/Main Street, between 9th Street and Lakewood Drive, is scheduled to be replaced. The contractor is scheduled to begin construction on May 1, 2021 with single lane closures on US 40 between SR79 and SR37, with flaggers or a temporary signal. Full closure is expected to begin June 1, 2021 for up to 30 days, with detour SR 79 to US 70 to SR 37. Please use caution when approaching the area and plan accordingly.

A message from the Director of Emergency Management Services:

Licking County will be participating in the Statewide Tornado siren test which is scheduled for next Wednesday (3/24) at 0950. The tornado sirens will trigger at this time. We will not be doing the regular test at noon on this day. As part of the test, we will also be testing the Rave Mass Notification System so expect to see all landlines and all opt in numbers receive a call at the same time as well. This will be an automatic message and will be triggered by National Weather.

Sharing information from the Licking Park District

Licking Park District Trail Status:

  The Ohio Canal Greenway Trail is closed today and tomorrow (3-10 and 3-11-21) from the I70 bridge to Hebron, for tree work and trail clearing.

 

Trails at Lobdell Reserve are CLOSED to HORSES due to wet and muddy conditions.

 

Trails at Infirmary Mound Park and Taft Reserve are OPEN to HORSES.

 

Trail conditions at Lobdell will be closely monitored and trails reopened as soon as there is sufficient improvement in condition for safety and maintaining the integrity of the trails.

Public Hearing Information

The area highlighted in yellow on this map reflects the proposed Zoning amendment area that will be discussed at tonight's Public Hearing at 6:30pm, at the regularly scheduled Planning & Zoning Meeting.

An application was received for a twenty acre parcel 075-330786-00.001 south of the Country Village Apartments, from Medium Density Residential (R2) to Multi-Family Residential (R5). The owner wants to develop the property for Multi-Family housing.
